Nexans EUROMOLD Connectors equip Ras Ghareb, the biggest Windfarm of Egypt

Apr 1, 2021

Ras Ghareb is a 262.5MW near-shore windfarm located near the Gulf of Suez, approximately 30km north-west of Ras Ghareb, Egypt. This $400m project has been developed by Ras Ghareb Wind Energy, a special-purpose joint venture company established by Engie (40%), Toyota-Tsusho / Eurus Energy (40%) and Orascom Construction (20%) on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. It is the first independent power producer and the biggest windfarm of Egypt and supplies power to approximately 500,000 households.

Nexans equips the Ras Ghareb windfarm with its EUROMOLD Separable Connectors 480TB & 484TB, sold through its business partner Orascom. Orascom selected the Nexans EUROMOLD connectors mainly for their proven reliability for decades and its technical preference on EPDM over Silicone for MV connectors,  especially appreciated in wind and solar projects.
